Peter Gelencser Wins Event 7 at the 2010 WSOP

Peter Gelencser won ($2,500 2-7 triple draw lowball) at the 2010 World Series of Poker. The Hungarian player received the bracelet and $180,730 in prize money after he defeated Raphael Zimmerman heads-up.
Gelencser entered the final table with the second biggest stack. The chip leader was Raphael Zimmerman. The rest of the players that managed to reach this phase were: David Chiu, Don Mcnamara, Jameson Painter and Leonard Martin.
The first to go was Leonard Martin. For the sixth place finish he got $24,723. Martin was followed by Jameson Painter. He found himself all in after the first draw against Raphael Zimmerman. On the second draw Painter took two while his opponent picked one. Painter then took one card on the last draw while Zimmerman stood pat. Painter turned over A-7-4-3-2 and Zimmerman 10-7-6-4-3. All was over for Painter. He ended in fifth place and received $34,843. In fourth position came David Chiu ($50,157) and in third Don Mcnamara ($73,803).
The final battle was between Gelencser and Zimmerman. Gelencser entered the heads-up match with a major disadvantage. He held a stack of 700,000 while Zimmerman had approximately 1,400,000 chips. But despite this difficult situation Gelencser dominated his opponent.
Zimmerman found himself all in after the second draw and drew one card. Gelencser stood pat and showed a 9-7 low. Zimmerman turned over his cards and revealed 8-6 low. He drew another six and all was over for him. For the second place finish Zimmerman got $111,686. Gelencser was declared the winner.
In the participated 290 players. The total prize pool reached $727,500. A number of 30 players received cash prizes. Some notables who cashed in the event, but fell short of the final table included Eli Elezra, Ted Forrest, David Baker, Allen Kessler, Greg Mueller, and Hoyt Coykins.
