Annette Obrestad to Appear at the 2010 WSOP
Annette Obrestad is a professional poker player from Norway. In the last three years she managed to obtain some fantastic results which established her as one of the most feared players in Europe. In 2007, at the age of 18, Obrestad took down the WSOPE main event. For the massive performance she walked away with $2.1million and a gold bracelet. Obrestad also finished as the runner-up at the 2007 EPT Dublin.
Despite her incredible performances, she was not allowed to participate in the world’s largest poker event, the World Series of Poker, because of the US age restrictions on gambling.
But now that she’s 21, Obrestad will get to play her first full WSOP schedule this summer in Las Vegas. The tournament kicks off on May 28th, Friday.
The 2010 WSOP has a total of 57 events. Obrestad said that she wants to play as many events as possible, including the new $25,000 Six-Max No Limit Hold’em and the $10,000 Main Event.
Beside being very successful in live poker tournaments, she’s also an experienced online player. Overall in her career Obrestad collected $3.76 million.
