Wynn Resorts Still Open to a Pennsylvania Casino
On Thursday the Chief Executive of Wynn Resorts Ltd., Steve Wynn, stated that the company would be interested in following another proposal for a casino in the city of Philadelphia if the opportunity appeared.
The casino operator, earlier this month canceled a casino development plan with the Philadelphia Entertainment and Development Partners. The group consists of local investors and the Mashantucket Pequot tribe. The project, originally to be called Foxwoods Casino Philadelphia, has been involved in political dispute and financial troubles since it was first authorized in 2006.
When asked by an analyst if the company would take into consideration to make a bid for that license if it came up for renewal, Wynn responded “yes”.
The Chief Executive of Wynn Resorts declared: “The gaming opportunities in Pennsylvania were interesting and stimulating but the particular deal we were in…became unattractive to us. We backed out of (that) deal more than we backed out of Pennsylvania.”
