Romanian Football Agent Acts Disgracefully at WPT Bucharest
The latest Word Poker Tour event takes place at the Regent Casino in Bucharest, Romania. The €3,000 + €300 main event attracted some of the best poker players like the WPT Hollywood winner Carlos Mortensen, Dragan Galic, Sorel Mizzi, Pascal Perrault, Nicholas Levi, Praz Bansi, Casey Kastle, and Ran Azor. Normally in a tournament of such caliber incidents rarely happen but once in while there are exceptions. The Romanian football agent Ioan Becali was among the participants at the tournament. During play Becali started to become more and more irritated by the fact that a fellow player at his table was spending too much time with the only masseuse girl available. After being increasingly vocal he was advised by the tournament staff to calm down. What happened next could be easily described as disgraceful. Becali threw is chips in the air and as if this outrageous act was not enough he tried to hit the tournament director. Becali left the area slamming the door behind him.
Tony G is without a doubt one of the most temperamental poker pros. Regarding the incident that happened at the WPT tournament he stated in his blog: “I am not being righteous as I know that in my past I have been no angel but this behavior is disgraceful and there is no place for it on the World Poker Tour or in any poker room. It is a disgrace.”
