LA Poker Classic Heads-Up Championship Won by Chris Moore
Chris Moore registered an impressive result at the LA Poker Classic. He won the Heads-Up Championship after he defeated Vivek Rajkumar in the final.
With just 37 entries, the field for this year’s heads-up championship was quite a bit smaller than the 111-player crowd from the 2009 LA Poker Classic.
In Day 1 Moore won all his matches and he had to defeat only Anthony Guetti and Aaron Jones in order to enter the final table via the winner’s bracket route. His opponent, Rajkumar, because he lost a match on Day 1, had to beat Eugene Katchalov, Thomas Gabriel, Guetti, Michael Binger and Jones before finally taking his seat opposite Moore.
After great efforts Moore and Rajkumar reached the final table. The match was very intense as both players showed their best moves. The final blow fell after Vivek Rajkumar bet out on a Kd 7s 5d flop holding Ks 7h, only to be re-raised by Moore with Qd 8d. Rajkumar made the call. The 2d fell on the turn and Rajkumar decided to make an all-in call. The 9h on the river did not help Rajkumar. Moore with a flush won the confrontation. He took the LA Poker Classic HU title, $152,200 in prize money and a $10,000 seat at the L.A. Poker Classic main event.
Rajkumar for the second place collected $76,100.
